PURPOSE

As a legacy to our much loved son and brother Matthew McLuckie who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle incident on 19th May 2022, we are campaigning to address the issues that are leading to the carnage and recklessness on our roads.

We wish to raise awareness of consequences of reckless and criminal motor vehicle behaviours, review current traffic and motor vehicle crime offences, and review of the judiciary.

We believe it is necessary to address ongoing shortfalls in the related system health and rehabilitation services available to the community.

ACT Now for Safer Roads
Goals

Review current fines and convictions for motor vehicle offences and crimes  and consider meaningful review of our legislation.

To support an independent review of the ACT Judiciary.

To ensure there is appropriate funding for mental health and drug and alcohol treatment programs for the community.

To ensure we have rehabilitation programs in place in our Corrective Services - properly funded, measured and assessed.
